Corrib Boater X - Sunday 6th March

Since a lot of boaters will be out west this weekend for the Freestyle Rodeo and because the Lower Corrib is still running on a high level, we have decided to run an informal boater cross on the Lower Corrib on Sunday 6th March.

What:

A boater cross down the Lower Corrib, in Galway City.

Heats will comprise of 4 paddlers.
The winner of each heat will qualify for the final / semi final (depending on numbers)

The course will be from the Shit Chute down to the Spanish Arch.

The course for the semi and finals will be slightly different.

This is an informal race, so there will be no prizes or sponsors. It is just an excuse to get out and blast down the Corrib with your mates. It may lead to similar events on the Corrib in the future.

Boat restrictions: Boats must be shorter than 3 meters in length.

When:

Sunday 6th May.
Meeting in Fisheries Field at 11.00
In Gear Race Briefing @ 11.30

Who:

Everyone of a Level 3 skills standard.
Each Heat will provide rescue for the others in the heat.
In effect this is a peer paddling session, but the peers will be racing each other.

Registration:

Email your name to powzin at yahoo .co.uk to express your interest in racing.
You can turn up on the day and race too.
